The Random Search Selector has been designed to be used at exit points used by employees and selects at random which members of the workforce are to be searched. The presence of the search selector provides maximum deterrent for potential thieves without the extra cost and inconvenience of stopping all of the staff on departure. The Random Search Selector is robust, reliable and completely unbiased. This will provide the workforce with an effective search policy without claims of prejudice, victimisation or discrimination due to the completely random settings.
The remote indicator gives security staff in a different location the reading from the Random Search Selector as the button is pressed. The remote indicator unit is connected to the Compact Selector via a plug in lead (supplied) and is suitable for installation in external applications.
How the Random Search Selector works
- The Selector should be placed in view of security personnel
- All staff should press the button once on exit
- If the red light shows, accompanied by a high tone flashes, a search should be carried out.
- If the green light shows, accompanied by a low tone, the patron should pass without search
- The overall percentage of personnel to be searched can be adjusted from 1%-100%
- The selection is random and the odds of being selected for search are the same every time the button is pressed
- Patrons using the search selector will be unaware of the settings, so even at 0% there is deterrent value
- The search, ideally with a Garrett Superscanner, should be thorough enough to determine that the patron has no company property in their possession
- The system can be enhanced by using optional CCTV to oversee and record the search procedures, ensuring search policy is always adhered to.
